Model CHILLA 2 - 3

Available in 2 versions of 2 and 3 bottles.
“CHILLA” has impermeable sleeves, each of which connected to an independent electronic timer, that reduces the temperature from the room one to the optimal temperature for tasting.
Put the bottle in the special sleeve and select the desired time, 4, 6 or 8 minutes. (it will take more time if the environmental temperature is higher than 18°C)
Once reached the suitable temperature a buzzer and a bright led indicate what bottle is ready to be used.
The process of cooling is very easy: “CHILLA” works using an alimentary refrigerant liquid that circulates inside the bath at a temperature of - 35°C around.
“CHILLA” combines functionality and design and it is particularly suitable for who always needs to have the product at the correct temperature.

Wine chilled to exactly the right temperature in a matter of minutes is now possible because Chilla wine chillers can chill white wine, champagne and spirits so much faster than traditional methods. Ideal for restaurants, bars, gastro pubs, supermarkets, convenience stores and caterers, our products chill to perfection. The Chilla offers attractive opportunities for adding your company logo, branding your own products or promoting special offers.

How big is it?
The actual size of the unit is detailed on the product sheet and our web-site. However, it is safe to say that a Chilla 2 is about the size of a large microwave oven.

How does it work?
Chilla uses a bath of glycol and water, maintained at -35°C to chill wine quickly and safely. The fluid is stored in an insulated tank and is cooled using basic refrigeration technology. The bottle of wine to be cooled is placed in one of the bags suspended in the glycol/water bath and the corresponding timer button is pressed. After the number of minutes chosen has elapsed, an alarm sounds and the wine is ready to serve. Chilla chills the wine, but the bottle remains dry

How quickly does it chill?
Chilla chills at an average of -2°C per minute. Some wines will chill more quickly than others due to the thickness of the glass used in the bottle. Champagne takes longer to chill as the glass is much thicker than that used for ordinary wine bottles.

How long do the bags last?
How long the bags last will depend very much on how often the unit is used. Chilla 2 is recording a average of 2 new bags per year - some use less, some use more

How often do I have to empty the glycol/water mix?
A complete glycol/water change is not needed. We recommend that 5litres of fluid be removed each year to be replaced with pure glycol to ensure that the unit remains at optimum efficiency. The process is inexpensive and we will remind you every twelve months.

What special plumbing and wiring do I need to install the unit?
None. The glycol/water solution is contained within the unit and a normal 13amp plug socket is all that is required electrically.

What maintenance does the unit require?
DAILY: It is usual for condensation to collect in the bags overnight. This will obviously freeze to form powdery ice. The bags should be wiped with a clean cloth each morning to remove this "frosting". Please note that the amount of "frosting" will depend on the humidity and so will vary at each different location.
MONTHLY: We recommend that to allow any build up of ice that may have formed on the coil inside the unit to melt, it be turned off overnight once a month. This will allow the build up of ice to be removed manually. The humidity will vary from location to location and so the amount of ice build up will vary. It should only be necessary to defrost the unit once a month. Please remember that it will take the unit approximately 2 hours to return to full operating temperature once turned back on.
YEARLY: Each time the unit is "de-iced", the glycol solution is diluted. To prevent this from causing any problems 5 litres of fluid should be removed from the tank to be replaced with 5 litres of pure glycol. This should be done once a year.

I already have fridges for wine, why do I need a Chilla?
Chilla is an addition to fridges. Often, successful shops, restaurants and bars do not have enough refrigeration for the number of wines they want to offer chilled. Having a Chilla means that you never have to say "sorry, we don't have a bottle of the wine you have chosen chilled".

I don't sell much wine
Why waste fridge space for wine that could be used for more designer beers? Use Chilla to chill your wine

Chilla is expensive
Once you own a Chilla you will appreciate why they cost more than a small fridge. Their output is twice that of most back-bar fridges and what price can you put on the added service they allow you to provide

Is a Chilla expensive to run?
No, a Chilla is no more expensive than a fridge to run and experience has shown that it is more economical than an open fronted chiller cabinet to operate.

Serving wine at the perfect temperature
The finer the wine, the less it needs chilling. Chilla 2 and Chilla 3 make it possible to serve quality wines to order without keeping a wide variety of wine permanently chilled - cold wine sells more white wine
